This year I’m committing to help TMI Project raise $50,000 to launch The Julie Novak Storytelling Club (The Storytelling Club) — a new community hub where every story shared is an act of liberation. Created in honor of co-founder Julie Novak, whose ability to make people laugh, feel unfettered joy, and truly seen and heard is woven into the heart of this new program. The Storytelling Club is a direct antidote to the epidemic of loneliness and alienation. Storytelling is an ancient ritual that heals communities and teaches the skills our world needs now: listening without defensiveness, speaking from embodied truth, holding what’s hard, forming deep relationships across lines of difference, and intentionally reclaiming joy — because joy itself is resilience.
