True to TMI Project’s mission, let’s begin with a story:
In 1968, as a teen, I found myself pregnant prior to Roe v. Wade. I was forced to carry the pregnancy to term and relinquish the child -- a painful and traumatizing experience. It impacted the rest of my life. So much so, that I eventually become an ob-gyn physician. I have provided abortions for thousands of people, many of whom face great odds to access this critical care.
Thanks to the work of TMI Project and donors like you, this January I will be sharing my story with the world. By sharing my experience, I hope to convey the importance of abortion rights and reproductive justice to the health and lives of people; and cut through the stigma to evoke understanding, empathy, compassion, and a commitment to act during this perilous time for reproductive rights.

As we approach 2022, Roe v. Wade, the Constitutional right to access safe, legal abortion, is at risk like never before. With new laws in Texas, and the current case before the Supreme Court challenging a Mississippi law, our reproductive freedoms are at risk like never before.
Yet, nearly 2/3 of Americans do not want to see Roe Vs. Wade overturned*. That’s why TMI Project is raising funds to support Stories for Choice, programming that has personal stories about reproductive justice at its core.

- Enables individuals like Maureen, Eugenia, Marie, Dr. Nae, and Kindra whose voices have too often gone unheard, to develop and share their stories around critical issues such as access to reproductive healthcare.
- Supports a virtual live storytelling performance for a national audience. Our Stories for Choice performance will be held via Zoom on Saturday, January 22, 2022 (the 49th anniversary of Roe v. Wade) – register now at tmiproject.org/storiesforchoice.
- Creates Season 3 of the TMI Project Podcast, which will drop in early 2022.
- Develops the Storytelling & Action Toolkit for college campuses and organizations, for the live performance and the podcast. These toolkits enable audience members and participants to go deeper into the stories shared, connecting them to their own lives and gaining inspiration and ideas to take action.
- Begins the planning of Stories for Choice programming for the 50th anniversary of Roe v. Wade in 2023!
